Carroll Construction has been provided so many opportunities by the community we work in!
We are committed to not only giving back to the community we love, but also staying current with the latest construction and renovation techniques. Here are a few of the organizations in which we are involved:
Home Builder’s Foundation
We are currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Home Builders Foundation of Greater Baton Rouge (HBF)
The HBF, 501(c)3, was founded in 2002 to support the charitable efforts of the Home Builders Association (HBA). Each year, all general admission ticket proceeds from the Parade of Homes are donated to our Home Builders Foundation of Greater Baton Rouge, 501c3, which raises funds to aid families and children in need.
Our 2021 Parade of Homes Beneficiary was the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Louisiana. Through the Home Builders Foundation, we were able to donate $25,000 to support the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs, which is to enable all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
Home Builders Association of Greater Baton Rouge
We are also serving on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the Home Builders Association of Greater Baton Rouge. The Home Builders Association of Greater Baton Rouge supports the home building industry in the regional area. The nine-parish Capital Region holds more than 800,000 people, as of the 2020 census, and includes Ascension, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, West Baton Rouge, and West Feliciana.
The Home Builders Association of Greater Baton Rouge is dedicated to promoting, protecting, and preserving the home building industry as a viable economic force in Greater Baton Rouge.
National Association of Home Builders (NAHB)
Additionally, Robert Carroll Serves on the Board of Directors, the Construction Codes and Standards Committee, and the Single Family Finance Subcommittee of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). This Association gives a national voice to our local concerns and allows us to travel annually to Washington DC to meet with our representatives and senators to lobby for the items that are important to Louisiana and her residents.
We were able to participate first hand in the effort to fight the Biggert Waters Act, which nearly devastated our housing economy through the dismantling of the flood subsidy. We continue to fight for homeowner’s rights to the use of their land against organizations such as the EPA and DEQ, which regularly seizes private family land and seeks to expand burdensome regulations. Additionally, our continued efforts to equip local code officials with the tools to keep the actions of special interest groups from turning our building codes into product manuals are of vital importance to the affordability of housing.
Lastly, anyone who has ever received a low appraisal on their home can understand the reason we are committed to remaining involved in the shaping of the national appraisal process. For more information, please visit www.NAHB.org.
