A Classic Acadian Farmhouse Designed for Southern Living
Hebert Family Case Study
Client Vision
This Acadian Farmhouse, Completed in 2011, Was a Personal Favorite For Us!
We loved helping the Heberts bring their dream home to life—a spacious custom design built on premium land, with strong curb appeal and timeless Louisiana style.
From the traditional red front door and large dormer to the sweeping front porch, the exterior draws you in immediately. Inside, the character continues with heart-of-pine flooring, tall ceilings, and hand-crafted cabinetry that give the home warmth and authenticity.
Fun Fact:
In Judeo-Christian tradition, a red front door has symbolized protection and sanctuary—a sign of safety and welcome. Whether symbolic or simply stylish, the Heberts’ red door sets the tone for a home filled with warmth and intention.
They had a vision, and we were honored to help build it.
Why They Chose Carroll Construction
With over 30 years of local experience, Carroll Construction offers a clear, phased design + build process—one that adapts to your needs as your plans evolve.
For the Heberts, our in-house designer made all the difference. It gave them confidence that their vision would be respected, and their choices supported.
They also appreciated the online project portal, which allowed them to track selections and pricing in real time. In addition, our redline plan tracking software ensured every revision was captured accurately.
How We Helped Build Their Acadian Farmhouse
We customized the selections process to align with the Heberts’ personal style and priorities.
Key features they selected included:
A high-efficiency HVAC system
Custom tile showers
Reclaimed heart pine flooring with rich natural character
The kitchen cabinetry was a true centerpiece—built with a classic look and picture-framed upper doors that elevated the design. The island was made from barnwood, left intentionally rustic to preserve visible saw marks and create contrast within the space.
In one playful and personal touch, we built a hidden crawlspace between the kids’ bedroom closets—a detail their family will never forget.
Every plan revision was carefully tracked and preserved, giving the Heberts full confidence throughout the design-build process.

Energy Efficiency & Comfort
This Acadian farmhouse was built with long-term performance in mind. We focused on tight air sealing to reduce energy loss and maintain efficiency over time.
Their HVAC system was properly sized and ducted to provide comfort in every room, no matter the season.
These are standard practices at Carroll Construction—not upgrades. They help reduce utility costs and ensure the home stays comfortable without active maintenance or adjustments.

The Result: A Timeless Acadian-Style Home
The Heberts’ home is warm, open, and full of timeless character—a reflection of their taste and values.
They appreciated a clear and collaborative process that allowed them to stay involved without being overwhelmed.
In the end, they received a home that’s not only beautiful, but built with care to support their family for years to come.
“Designed for charm, built to last. The Heberts' Acadian farmhouse is a blend of family history, southern character, and intentional design.”
