Why They Chose Carroll Construction
With over 30 years of experience in the local market, Carroll Construction offers a clear, phased design + build process that is flexible enough to accommodate customization. The Gehlings’ property presented real unknowns, including an existing house pad completed by a previous landowner, and they needed assurance that it would meet compaction requirements before moving forward. They were looking for a builder with the experience to evaluate the situation, coordinate the right next steps, and help them make confident decisions. Most importantly, they wanted a company with a clear plan for building—one that could guide the process while still allowing them to personalize the home to fit their goals.
How We Helped
We provided a structured, step-by-step process for designing and building their home, keeping each phase clear and easy to understand. From early planning through construction coordination, we helped the Gehlings move forward with confidence by setting expectations, documenting decisions, and guiding them through each milestone without unnecessary complexity. Because their lot required the right approach, we brought in the appropriate crews and expertise to address the unique conditions of the property, ensuring the site work and build strategy matched what the project demanded.
Energy Efficiency & Comfort
We prioritize minimizing energy loss while maintaining consistent, low-humidity comfort—starting with a properly sized HVAC system and continuing with practical efficiency choices like LED lighting to reduce overall energy consumption. We also pay attention to the solar orientation of the lot to limit heat gain during the summer and take advantage of natural warmth during the winter. In addition, we aim for neutral airflows across the home’s mechanical systems to reduce pressure imbalances that can pull exterior air into the building envelope during normal operation. These standard Carroll Construction practices help protect comfort, manage humidity, and support long-term energy performance without requiring active homeowner management.
The Result
The finished home reflects the Gehlings’ vision and the practical needs of their property, supported by a process that stayed organized from start to finish. They gained clarity early—especially around site readiness—and then moved through design and construction with a plan they could understand and trust. In the end, they received a quality-built home with the flexibility to customize, backed by the right expertise for their land and the confidence that key decisions were handled correctly.
